Renate Menneke – an artist from Bad Camberg – dedicates her entire artistic creativity to socially engaged projects, thereby keeping a promise that she once gave highly marginalized street kids in India.
Every time she sells one of her works, she donates the proceeds to a Christian organization in India that helps child prostitutes in Mumbai (Bombay). The organization rescues these children from the world of prostitution and places them in new families, gives them medical and psychological treatment, ensures that they have clothing and food and gives them the opportunity to go to school.
Many of Renate Menneke's large format paintings in oil and acrylic can be found in public spaces, banks, hospitals, churches, community halls and social institutions, as well as in private homes.
